East of the River...
The mighty Stitchwort River runs from south to north and bisects the town of Hidden Rock. Originally, the entire town lay on the west bank but the building of permanent bridges across the river allowed for an eastward expansion. Prior to this however, most of the east bank was unexplored and unused. However, early pioneers did establish a small cemetery in this area. The exact location of the cemetery is unknown, but thought to have been located on what is now the athletic fields of Edgewater High School. |
